Notable Silicon Valley tech blogger Louis Gray and startup Advisor finally turns his passion for Google's products and services. Grey had just adopted a position, product marketing manager at Google + team, the role of the Evangelist, involving promotion of Google's new Facebook competitor, Google +.
The role is defined loosely, but will include work with Google + engineers to improve the product, the setting of future goals for Google + and, most importantly, promote social network whenever and wherever possible. This latter obligation will also include talking about Google + at various events and exhibitions, "gray said.
The job was specifically built for Grey, which cover Google technologies and innovations, among other things, on his personal blog for quite some time. But Gray is not your typical Google "fanboy," it should be noted. In fact, not too many months ago, one could accuse him of in Apple's camp instead.
Sometime in 2009, however, his devotion to Apple began to waver. Gray began to feel Google's request, and openly asks if he, self-described "Mac guy" would be "going Google" in the near future.
"Google is growing on me in a big way and they are the real alternative to [Apple] – Microsoft never was really something," he wrote on his blog.
Shortly afterwards, his iPhone for Android device trade in grey. And by the end of the year, he happily Android worthy competitor to the iPhone, saying that he can now go ' function, the function against zone iPhone, "making Smartphone choice is a matter of personal preference. But even when he scored away to his review unit Google chrome CR-48 (demo equipment featuring Google's chrome cloud-based operating system), he still ended up purchasing Apple products like the iPad, Apple TV and the MacBook Air.
These days, though, you're more likely to find it using the Chrome OS, Android phones and tablets, placement on Google + … oh and collect these lovely Android figures.
Prior to Google, grey was the Managing Director of his own company Paladin Advisors Group, an independent strategic consulting firm for startups. Paladin major clients over the past year the resource provider RepairPal car care and My6Sense, mobile applications, whose goal is to identify the most relevant content to your social networks and RSS feeds.
Gray also holds equity in the Teens in Tech, MyLikes and SocialToo, all of which he scrupulously disclosed whenever he mentioned about them or their competition on his blog. Until 2009, he held a day job as Director of corporate marketing for NAS vendor BlueArc, too.
Gray said he hoped to continue blogging (disclosure intact) and free advice to startups in their free time. However, this time can be difficult given Google + growth over the past weeks, we think.
