Invite your friends to Google + with new, Tweetable links

Google just made it easier for you to invite friends to its new social network, Google +, providing a short link can be placed on the Web site or share with others over Instant Messaging. In order to get a link, said product manager of Google Shimrit Ben Yair, you simply click the "invite friends" on the right side of the stream – offers place had been found before.

This news was announced yesterday by Google engineer Balaji Srinivasan, but functionality will not go live until last night.

With the new feature you have the opportunity to invite 150 more people to the network.

Smart thinking, Google. Use Twitter to get more registrations! I like it.

I remember spending hours on Twitter last month, handing out invites manually (and painful!) by copying and pasting email addresses, sent to me via @ replies or direct messages in Google plus offer form. This is so much easier. I can just Tweet from exile and be done with it! I think I'll do it right now, actually. And it looks like I'm not the only one, if this Twitter search for any indication.

There is one minor problem with the link, though – you need to cut it yourself, if you post to Twitter or you will end up with a mess like this. Why Google does not automatically shortened link using your own URL shortening service Goo. gl? You know, it is called the "URL shortener stablest, most secure and fast online? This seems really missed opportunity.
